Welcome to the website for the Rattlesnake Mountain Rangers, a new Cowboy Action Shooting Club.

We are located between Checotah and Warner Oklahoma just south of Muskogee, and shoot the first Saturday of the month.

Well, we sure had fun and it was a beautiful day for cowboy shooting! Congratulations to Naildriver for shooting not only the fastest, but also the only one to not miss a single target! What an amazing performance! Ambler was close behind, with Rowdy Rebel and BlackRiver Jack taking third and fourth places. Thanks also to Road Maker, Peddler Parsons, Cole Winter, Rip A Lot, Cookson, Willie, Poteau Kid, Reno Sparks, and Cheyenne O’Brian for adding to the perfect day.

The unfortunate part of the day was discovering that the gun range had bulldozed the earthen berms much higher and closer than they had been before, essentially shrinking the cowboy range down to postage stamp size. Coupled with the fact that we have to move so much steel prior to setting up our own cowboy targets, well, we are just getting too old for that much stress and strain. We do appreciate all the help we have gotten each month, but BlackRiver Jack has decided to call the cease fire and cold range on the Rattlesnake Mountain Rangers at that location, and search for a different place to set up the gun club. We have a couple places in mind and in the works, so hopefully by July of this year we will be back in business and holding our monthly shoots. Stay posted to this website, and we will contact ya’ll by email or phone when we have something firmed up for the future club. It is especially discouraging to be faced with this just as the Oil Capitol cowboy club has shut down due to being struck by a tornado that destroyed much of their facility. We know everyone wants to keep active with shooting, so we will do everything we can to find a new place and get the Rattlesnake Mountain Rangers club back in action. If we miss contacting you for some reason over the next month or so, give John a call at 918-908-0016 for an update.

Thanks again for all your help and participation, and the wonderful friendships we have made! And for you new shooters who came out to watch us on May 8, please don’t be discouraged, we have every intention of getting a new location nearby for the club to shoot at on the second Saturday of each month.
